Campaigns

Fair Vote Canada (FVC) promotes voting system reform at all levels of government. Our primary focus is federal reform, but FVC has also launched several major provincial reform campaigns (see below). As well, FVC has provided support and works with groups in other provinces that are promoting fair voting and proportional representation.

FEDERAL FAIR VOTING CAMPAIGN

The FVC national office and leadership manage an ongoing federal reform campaign that includes political and media relations programs and public education activities. (See the Home page, News and Publications sections of this web site.)

The National Legislative Affairs Committee coordinates contact with MPs and we will soon have an FVC Federal Parliamentary Caucus comprised of MPs, Parliamentary staff and others working on Parliamentary affairs, who support the FVC mission.

FVC also periodically mobilizes our membership and grassroots supporters for specific campaign activities, e.g., during federal elections and at other opportune times. FVC members and volunteers are updated on campaign activities through our e-newsletter and special campaign bulletins.

Questions or requests for further information about our federal campaign can be directed to office@fairvote.ca.

FAIR VOTE ONTARIO CAMPAIGN

Fair Vote Ontario Campaign was launched in 2002 to coordinate FVC's provincial electoral reform activities in Ontario. Fair Vote Ontario is currently focused on the impending formation of the Ontario Citizens' Assembly for Electoral Reform and the expected referendum in October 2007. FAIR VOTE ALBERTA CAMPAIGN

Fair Vote Alberta is a provincial campaign launched by the Alberta chapters of Fair Vote Canada. The FVA campaign is pressing the Alberta government for a citizens' assembly on electoral reform, similar to those in British Columbia and Ontario. For more details: Fair Vote Alberta.
